- Place the flour in a bowl and mix in the dry ingredients.
- Add the lukewarm water, oil, and yogurt, then knead everything with a dough hook until you have a smooth, supple dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
- In the meantime, bring a pot of water to a boil and add the tablespoon of sugar. Reduce the heat slightly.
- Divide the dough into 4 portions and shape them into balls with wet hands. Use your finger to poke a hole in the center of each dough ball and stretch the dough out about 3 to 4 cm so it doesn’t close up again during baking.
- Add the dough pieces one by one to the gently simmering water and let them simmer on both sides for about 30–45 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and let them drain briefly.
- Preheat the air fryer briefly.
- Whisk the egg in a small bowl and brush the bagels with it. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated air fryer at 200°C for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. Turn the bagels once after 10 minutes.
- Let them cool slightly and enjoy them while they’re still warm!
Note: Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to bake the bagels in batches.
