Here you can find information regarding how we label any allergens (or lack thereof) in all of our delicious recipes. Take the time to familiarise yourself with the symbols.

Free from

The distinction “free from” indicates that the allergen is not contained in the specific Schär product used in the recipe The absence of allergens is guaranteed (for example: free from gluten, wheat, lactose) for the Schär product.

Without addition of:
The distinction “without addition of” describes which ingredients are not part of the Schär product used in the recipe. However, unintentional cross contaminations cannot be excluded (for example without addition of milk*, egg, soya, nuts, oat, yeast, rice, corn).

  • Gluten-free


    Gluten free are recipes that only contain gluten-free ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe.  By using the ingredient list on the packaging itself, you can verify that they are gluten-free. Avoid also any cross-contamination with gluten.
    All Schär products used in these recipes are gluten-free and meet the legal limits (<20ppm).

  • Wheat free


    Wheat free are recipes that only contain wheat-free ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe. By using the ingredient list on the packaging itself, you can verify that they are wheat-free. Avoid also cross-contamination with wheat.
    All Schär products used in these recipes are wheat-free.

  • No milk added

    No milk added


    No milk added are recipes that do not contain milk-containing ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe. By using the ingredient list on the packaging itself, you can verify that they are milk-free. Avoid the risk of cross-contamination with milk.
    Schär products used in these recipes do not contain milk nor milk products as an ingredient. However, we cannot rule out the possibility of accidental cross-contamination.

    Lactose free are recipes that only contain lactose-free ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe. By using the ingredient list on the packaging itself, you can verify that they are lactose-free. Avoid also cross-contamination with lactose.
    No Schär products used in these recipes contain lactose, using the most sensitive analyses (0,001g/100g).

  • Organic

    Organic


    Organic - all Schär products used in these recipes are organic.
    We also recommend that all other ingredients come from an organic source.
  • Vegetarian

    Vegetarian


    Vegetarian are recipes that contain no meat or fish ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe using the ingredient list on the packaging itself to ensure they are also vegetarian.
    No Schär products used in these recipes contain meat or fish.

  • Vegan

    Vegan


    Vegan recipes contain no animal nor animal derived ingredients.

    Always check all processed or industrially produced foods listed in the recipe using the ingredient list on the packaging itself to ensure they are also vegan.
    All Schär products used in these recipes do not contain meat, fish and any other animal derived ingredient (milk, dairy products, colostrum, eggs, honey, beeswax, propolis, wool grease including lanolin derived from the wool of living sheep or their components or derivatives). This also includes processing aids and substances, which are not classed as food additives, but are used in the same way and with the same purpose as processing aids that are of animal origin.

  • High in fibre

    High fibre recipes contain at least 6g of fibre per 100g.
  • Low fodmap

    Low FODMAP


    Low FODMAP - the term ‘FODMAPs’ stands

    for Fermentable Oligosaccharides Disaccharides Monosaccharides And Polyols - carbohydrates (sugars) that are found in a range of different foods.
    Schär products used in these recipes have been certified as low in FODMAPs under the Monash University Low FODMAP Certification Program.
    Low FODMAP certified products do not contain ingredients classified as high in FODMAP. One serving of this product falls within the limits of the Monash University low FODMAP diet. A strict low FODMAP diet should not be commenced without prior supervision from a healthcare professional.
