Have you ever celebrated carnival with tempting donuts? Filled with jam or cream and covered with icing sugar, they are simply irresistible!

Ingredients

450 g
50 g
40 g
fresh yeast
or
30 g
dry yeast
250 ml
milk
5
egg yolks
60 g
sugar
80 g
butter
1
grated lemon peel
1 package
vanilla extract
1 shot
rum
1 pinch/es of
salt
frying oil
For the filling:
jam
chocolate spread
or
vanilla cream
icing sugar

Preparation

  • Bring all ingredients to room temperature, and then place them in a bowl and work them with a whisk until the mixture comes away from the edge.
  • Form a ball, put it back in the bowl, cover with a cloth and let sit until the mixture grows to about twice its size.
  • Again, briefly work the dough on the work surface and make balls of about 30-50 gr. in size, then let them sit again, after being covered with a cloth, for about 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan and fry the donuts a few at a time, until they are puffy and golden on both sides.
  • Take out of the pan and let drain on kitchen paper. Fill them with the filling of your choice with a pastry bag and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
