Try this typically Italian pastry! It’s always delicious, not just during Mardi Gras!

Ingredients

400 g
80 ml
milk
250 g
potato
2
eggs
2 tbsp
sugar
15 g
brewers' yeast
or
10 g
dry yeast
1 pinch/es of
salt
1 package
vanilla sugar
1 tbsp
margarine
1 glass
vermouth
1
grated lemon peel

Preparation

  • Boil the potatoes, peel them, and then mash them with a potato masher.
  • Dissolve the yeast into vermouth and mix all of the ingredients together until a smooth dough is formed.
  • Form the dough into intertwined ropes, lay on a cloth, cover, and allow to rise.
  • As soon as they have doubled in volume, fry them in oil, sprinkle with sugar, and serve while still warm.
