Ingredients

550 g
125 g
margarine
300 ml
water
75 ml
milk
15 g
fresh yeast
or
10 g
dry yeast
80 g
sugar
anise

Preparation

  • Melt the margarine and dilute with the water and milk. Add the yeast and stir together well. Mix in all of the remaining ingredients and knead into a dough. Cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into five even parts and roll them out with a rolling pin to form leaves approximately 1/2 cm. (1/4 in.) thick.
  • Spread out the dough on a baking tray that has been covered with greaseproof paper (wax paper) and lightly poke holes in the surface of the dough with a fork. Cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven.
