Maestro Classic is one of Schär’s most iconic gluten-free products: soft sliced bread made with sourdough and ancient grains millet and quinoa.

Maestro Classic ingredients are specially selected from growers to provide the highest possible quality gluten-free bread experience. Every batch of this best-selling bread is tested to ensure not only a delicious taste and juicy texture, but also to guarantee its status as a certified gluten-free food.

These same values and qualities are shared by the other products in the Masterbaker range, Maestro Cereale and Maestro Vital. This is bread as it is meant to be: authentic, great tasting, soft and simple.

As well as being one of the best-tasting gluten-free breads for everyday eating, Maestro Classic is also a fundamental ingredient for anyone following a gluten-free diet, whether you are making a simple sandwich or a dish like meatballs, you will always need a pack of Maestro Classic in your pantry for recipes with bread!

A delicious breakfast or handy snack idea, this typical French sandwich is made with ham, cheese and egg. This easy and gluten-free recipe is ready in 10 minutes:

  • Fry an egg in a small pan
  • Take 2 slices of Maestro Classic for each sandwich. Fill them with a thin layer of cream cheese, a slice or 2 of Italian ham (prosciutto cotto) and a fine slice of your favourite stringy cheese (you can go for mozzarella or Gruyère)
  • Close the sandwich and press with your fingertips all around the edges. Heat a nut of butter in a pan and cook your sandwich on both sides
  • Cover the top of the gluten-free Croque Madame with extra hot cheese and serve with the fried egg on top. Bon appétit!

3. Savoury croutons

Another creative way to use your Maestro Classic is to make savoury gluten-free croutons for soups or salads.

  • Cook in the oven at 180ºC until the croutons are golden, crunchy and delicious

4. Meatballs

Use Maestro Classic to make your gluten-free meatballs soft and juicy: just cut off the crust and soak the bread in a little milk before adding to your minced meat with your favourite seasoning and make small or medium-sized meatballs.
