Homemade hamburgers packed with added gluten free grilled goodness!
When it comes to burgers, nothing beats homemade. There’s really nothing like tucking into a succulent beef patty made with fresh ingredients just the way you like it. If you’re looking for new ways to prepare your patty, this gluten free hamburger recipe is a great place to start. It’s super simple and the grilled cheese, onion and courgette make it extra juicy and flavourful. Serve in homemade gluten free hamburger buns, of course. Burger-licious!

- Peel and finely chop the garlic, then mix it into the ground beef along with a generous pinch of salt. Combine thoroughly in a mixing bowl, then form the mixture into 4 evenly sized burger patties.
- Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Trim the ends off the zucchini and slice them thinly.
- Preheat a ridged cast-iron grill pan. Slice the hamburger buns in half and toast the cut sides on the hot grill until lightly golden.
- Grill the zucchini slices briefly on each side. Once grilled, drizzle them with a little olive oil and season with salt and chopped parsley.
- Cook the burger patties on the grill pan, flipping them after about 2 minutes, or once nicely seared.
- To assemble the burgers:
- Start with lettuce and onion on the bottom half of each bun.
- Add the burger patty, followed by a slice of tomato and the grilled zucchini.
- Top with a slice of cheddar cheese and the top half of the bun.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Chef’s Tip: For a richer, more robust flavor, try using 2 cups of ground beef and 1 cup of ground lamb in the patty mix.
