A classic: in addition to having an appealing look, it’s also delicious; suitable for a buffet breakfast or an afternoon coffee with friends.

Ingredients

lukewarm milk

Preparation

  • Into a bowl, pour the flour, baking powder, butter, eggs and 60 ml of milk, then work with a whisk for 10 minutes until you have a creamy mixture.
  • Divide the batter in half and keep it in two separate containers. To one half add the sifted cocoa and a tablespoon of warm milk, then mix well.
  • The two batters, one light and the dark, should have the same consistency. Grease and flour a round pan.
  • Then pour in the two mixtures, alternating light and dark. At the end, using a fork, stir the mixture with a spiral movement, so as to obtain a marbled effect.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180° C for about 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and then invert the mould to extract the cake while still hot.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and allow to cool.
