Ingredients

250 g
75 g
butter at room temperature
125 g
sugar

egg
1
egg yolk
1 tbsp
vanilla sugar
1 knife tip
ground cloves
1 tsp
cinnamon
50 g
ground almonds
2 tsp
baking powder
For decoration:
almonds, shelled

Preparation

  • Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • Add the egg and egg yolk, and continue to stir until the mixture is light and creamy.
  • Mix together the spices, flour, baking powder and almonds, and stir into the mixture.
  • Lightly dust your hands with flour and then roll the dough into walnut-sized balls.
  • Place an almond on top of each. Bake in the oven for 15–18 minutes at 180° until the biscuits turn slightly golden.
  • Leave the biscuits to cool on a wire rack. Moppen will stay fresh for 2–3 weeks if stored in a biscuit tin.
