At Schär, quality begins with the careful selection of our raw materials. To ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and traceability, we work closely with selected farmers and suppliers who follow strict cultivation guidelines and quality requirements.
Our approach to controlled cultivation includes sourcing raw materials from different geographical regions to reduce weather-related risks and ensure a reliable supply. We also carry out rigorous quality controls throughout the supply chain to verify varietal purity, prevent contamination (including gluten and allergens), and maintain full traceability from the field to the finished ingredient.
We maintain direct relationships with our farmers and regularly visit and support them to ensure compliance with our quality standards.
The primary origins of some of our key raw materials are:
Oats: Northern Europe
Millet: Italy and Austria
Rice: Italy and Spain
Sorghum: Italy
Maize (Corn): Italy and Austria
Buckwheat: Poland
Soy: EU countries (for flour, bran, and flakes)
Please note that sourcing may change over time based on availability and quality requirements. We continuously review and update our supply chain to ensure the safety, quality, and consistency of our products.
