Research has shown that people who consumer higher amounts of fibre have a lower risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and colorectal cancer. The recommended fibre intake for adults is 30g/day, but only 9% of adults are currently meeting this recommendation.
Increasing your fibre intake is a great way to improve your health, but don’t forget to increase your fibre intake gradually, drink plenty of fluid (at least 6-8 cups per day) and be physically active, to ensure your gut benefits the most from this change.
