Is the packaging of Schär products recyclable?

Through the innovation research work of our teams we can proudly confirm that 61% of our products use recyclable packaging. The goal is to reach 100% in the next few years and we are confident that we will achieve this challenging target.

In our packaging we use FSC-certified paper and cardboard, recyclable aluminum foil and different types of plastic depending on the product. We also have products packaged in paper-based materials, such as our bagged biscuits and we are working on different projects to reduce the plastic used.

We have developed our product range to offer consumers the highest levels of food safety and quality.

Our breads contain no preservatives and are not treated with alcohol.

The packaging must therefore provide the highest levels of protection against any damage in transit, gluten cross-contamination and ensure that the products have a good shelf life.

We are constantly reviewing technologies available in the market with the aim of improving our sustainability strategy, including reducing packaging size and thickness across almost every product family, as well as improving stock handling and streamlining transportation.
