The constellation of food intolerances
The children's organism and their intellect are constantly developing. A child, therefore, differently from an adult, burns -in the activity of growing- an important part of the energy assumed through food. Growth is an activity that needs a high requirement of nutrients. This is why mothers and fathers insist so much on their children eating.
For many children, eating is not a priority, for others -the greedy ones- it's a great pleasure. But for many of them eating is a nuisance. They are those children to whom food induces abdominal pain and swelling, diarrhea, headaches, joint pains, fatigue and skin problems.
Intolerances and more
Being "intolerant" to an ingredient, a food, a method of preparation or anything else about food means having an organism that refuses to properly process that food and it reacts to flag a problem.
Although often an intolerance is due to hereditary factors, it could also due to the immune system, infectious diseases or the diet itself. In any case, an intolerance is not the same as another.
Intolerances of the celiac disease spectrum
Regarding the reactions induced by the ingestion of food containing wheat and gluten, there are generally three clinical pictures: celiac disease, gluten sensitivity and wheat allergy. These definitions are often indistinctly used, despite the diversity of symptoms and challenges that must be faced by those who suffer from them.
There are many types of intolerances and only a medical specialist is able to prescribe the most effective analysis to discover their cause, making sure that the person (whether a child or an adult), through the elimination of that specific food or adhering to some specific rules, can regain the taste of eating without suffering from annoying consequences.
