Classic pasta puttanesca is an aromatic bunch of flavours.


250 g Spaghetti
1 tbsp olive oil
1 clove of garlic
1 pinch/es of chili powder
400 g cherry tomatoes, tinned
60 g black olives, de-stoned
2 tbsp capers
3 anchovy fillets
1 tsp sugar


  • Heat the olive oil.
  • Cook the chopped garlic and chili in oil for a few minutes.
  • Add tomatoes, olives, capers and chopped achovy fillets.
  • Let simmer until pasta is cooked.
  • Add a little bit of sugar to make the sauce more balanced.
  • Taste the salt and add it if needed.
  • Cook the pasta in salted water. 
  • Mix sauce with the drained pasta.
  • Serve with fresh basil.
