€ 10,000 for coeliac projects in Eastern Europe
During the gala dinner on the occasion of this year’s AOECS (Association of European Coeliac Societies) meeting in Maribor (Slovenia), Ulrich Ladurner, President of the Dr. Schär Group handed over a cheque for € 10,968 to Jean Louis Kieffer, board of AOECS.

Last autumn, Schär launched the “Coeliacs for Coeliacs” campaign in which € 0.25 from the sale of a variety of Christmas products was donated to the “Coeliacs for Coeliacs” fund. The campaign was launched to mark the 25th anniversary of the Dr. Schär Group.
Schär wanted to use the campaign to show its expertise in the production of gluten-free food and its commitment to coeliac condition once again. This also brings with it a great deal of responsibility to the growing numbers of coeliacs throughout Europe and beyond. After all, coeliac condition knows no limits.
As part of this year’s AOECS conference in Maribor Dr. Schär President Ulrich Ladurner was able to hand over the grand total of € 10,968 to Jean Louis Kieffer, board of AOECS, during the gala dinner at the Hotel Habakuk. The money will be used to support different coeliac development projects in Eastern Europe, mainly projects in Lithuania and Russia.
The campaign will be repeated again this year!

Out of all the different foods, flour is and will continue to be the best basic ingredient for baked goods and pasta. In general there is a wide variety of types of flour, all with very different nutritional values, and now there is also a huge selection of naturally gluten-free types of flour.
Bread, cakes and crêpes – so different and yet so similar, at least in terms of their basic ingredient: flour. After all, flour is always the basis of the most varied types of dough. Be it firm, stretchy, airy or crumbly - there's nothing you can't do with flour.
Cycling holidays are the latest craze, and they are also simple and inexpensive. We have a suggestion that will give you lots of variety and fresh air along the way - the Danube cycle path in Austria, one of the most popular cycle paths in Europe. In June 2007, 13-year old Roberto cycled part of the path with his father. The pair took a week to cycle from Passau in Southern Germany to Vienna. They covered an average of 50-60 km a day. They hadn't made any fixed plans or reservations but everything ran as smooth as clockwork.
The body needs sugar
Sweet food normally contains a lot of sugar and is therefore not very good for the teeth, figure etc. But can we really live without it…?
Directly after the fantastic Feel Free Mission 2007, our skipper, Matteo Richiardi, took part in the Giraglia Rolex Cup, the legendary coast regatta, which took place from the 10th to the 16th of June between Saint Tropez and Genoa. Here you can read a short except from his log book.
